St Agnes’ Catholic Primary School is proud to have a team of Digital Ambassadors from Year 1 to Year 6. The Ambassadors are elected by their classmates for this important role of helping others to make safe choices online. The Digital Ambassadors meet regularly to discuss online safety concerns and ideas – which they then feedback to their classes. The Ambassadors work with the teachers to plan, organise and promote competitions and whole school events for Safer Internet Day in February each year. The children of St Agnes are able to talk confidently about how they can stay safe online.
Each week there is a dedicated Online Safety page in the school newsletter. We share advice on specific popular games and websites, ways you can ensure online risks to children are minimised at home and useful tips and conversation starters to make online safety a regular conversation topic.
We host parent coffee mornings to share technology and internet tips, but also to allow parents to ask questions and share their experiences of using technology with their children. Our children are given opportunities to develop their independence in using technology safely through a range of clubs, workshops and trips throughout their time with us.
