St Alban was once a Roman soldier who saw something that changed his faith forever and made him the first ever British martyr. In his time, being a catholic was illegal- especially being a priest! He saw Roman soldiers chasing an innocent Catholic priest who was spreading the word about his faith. St Alban felt bad for the priest and knew that if he got caught he would be decapitated. St Alban wanted to help so without hesitation went to save the priest. He swapped clothes with the priest and let the priest go off in his Roman uniform. After a while of running away, he got caught and when they found out he was a soldier they were upset but they had to decapitate him with a sword instead of an axe by Roman rights. We must try to help others without hesitation and be kind and loving like St Alban was.

Dear St Alban,
We thank you for being brave enough to stand up for what you believe is right even if you were and felt alone. You have helped form our religion with your courageous actions. Thank you for all the things you’ve done for us. We will try our very best to become more like you and we will follow in your footsteps living closely to Christ. Please help us to be strong enough to do what is right like you did even if we too may find ourselves alone.
